Over the course of the next few weeks, the newly resurfaced tennis courts on the campus of Montgomery County Community College will be open and available for Whitpain Township residents, officials recently announced.
When these courts open, the courts at Wentz Run Park will be closed, renovated, and will reopen as pickle ball courts in the early fall, according to Whitpain Township.
“We have had strong public demand for pickle ball courts in the Township for years,” said Parks and Recreation Director Mike Richino. "Our partnership with Montgomery County Community College allows us to provide the community with eight newly resurfaced tennis courts, while adding pickle ball courts to meet strong and growing demand from our community.”
The Township will continue offering tennis lessons and programming. The new pickleball courts will be open, free of charge, for players of all abilities.
Lessons and leagues will begin in the spring.
